Christmas is a busy time of year; we are all decorating our homes, trying to buy gifts for everyone, going to holiday gatherings and events, all the while still trying to work and keep things together at home! How do we do it? 🙂
If you are still pondering what to get certain people on your Christmas list, such as co-workers, neighbors, the lady who grooms your dog, and so forth, keep in mind that holiday cookies are welcomed by just about everyone! Even if they don’t eat them, they can re-gift them, and that’s ok with me. 🙂 Plus, baking is relatively inexpensive, and yields a lot of gifts, and it’s fun to do on your own or with children helping out. Best of all, you don’t have to get out and battle traffic and crowds! Have fun with it!
If you’d like to find festive bags to package cookies in to give as gifts, Amazon has a good selection here. Also, you might find them locally at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s or in WalMart’s craft/baking section.
Here are a few more of my tried-and-true recipes for you to consider:
1. Chewy Peanut Butter-white chocolate chip
2. White and dark chocolate chip cookie bars
3. Nostalgic Creamsicle Cookies
4. Chewy chocolate-mint cookies
5. Chunky blondie bars with dried cherries and walnuts (in this photo, they’re dressed up for Valentine’s Day, but using green and red candies/fruits dresses them up for Christmas!)
Now, just pick one or two of these, and start getting gifts prepared (the dough is freezeable; make the balls ahead of time, freeze on a cookie sheet, then remove them to a ziploc bag in the freezer until you’re ready to bake them and share…or eat them!) and start making memories!
Enjoy!
