Claywalking

Don’t let me be hardened

like the clay under my feet

being beaten down upon by the searing sun

Let me not be left without any softness

wondering how something so molten

can park a glacier inside my chest.

Don’t let me lose joy or hope or any of the things

I have held to for so long.

Don’t let me lose me.

Let me grow stronger,

more able to show grace,

more able to love you as you are

whoever you are.

wherever you are.

Claywalking together.
