About Mama Steph

My name is Stephanie Frazier, or Mama Steph as I’m most often called,  and I live in East Texas. Baking and cooking are two things that I’ve loved since I was a little girl growing up in the panhandle of Florida. I had an Easy Bake oven when I was a preschooler to get me started, and used to head straight for the kitchen section of any store mom and dad took me to when I was a child.  I loved looking at all the beautiful, shiny things, wondering what they all did, and wishing for my own kitchen to use them in someday.  My family started my cooking education, as my parents and grandparents were great cooks, and allowed me to learn from them as I grew.

Now I have my own incredible family, my own kitchen that I work in daily, and even a cooking segment on ABC’s local affiliates KLTV7  in Tyler, Texas, and KTRE9 in Lufkin, Texas.  It’s called Mama Steph on East Texas Kitchen,  and it airs Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. and Fridays at 5 p.m. CST. I hope you’ll join me as I share recipes to nourish you and those you love and offer a little fun along the way.

  1. Mom had 2 of the coconut lime cookies while i went to CVS tonight. She was still eating them when i got home. She looked at me and said these are the best cookies i think i ever eaten!!!! I knew i loved them but now she’s hooked. She said she could eat the whole dozen and took them to the kitchen and said i needed to hide them from her. She’s 80 and has eaten some of the best home cooked food in the world and you came in first! i think i’d like to talk to you next time i see you. Are you a christian? i think i have the beginning of a bible study coming to me usuing your cookies as the object lesson..Can you do lunch one day? Would that work out in your schedule?

    • Gina, thank you so much for sharing that with me! Your mom is the kind of customer I’m most flattered to get approval from, because she’s eaten good old fashioned food all her life, for sure!
Yes! Let’s do lunch! I’d love to hear about your Bible study and help if I can. 🙂 Let me get through this week with HEAP antique show and next week with the Great American PB Festival and then I’ll be able to breathe. 🙂

  2. Hey, I just ran across your website from the food blog site. I like “Sing for my Supper.” I got to stay home from school today too. I live in Mount Pleasant and while my kids have been playing in the snow, I have been watchoing outside the window and checking out the food sites. Really cool to know you are in East Texas too. Can I ask where?

    • Hi, Dee! I’m so glad you found me! Do you have a blog, too? I’d love to visit it. I live out in the country in Wood County, actually. Most of what my family does is in Tyler! So, did you get lots of snow?

  3. Steph,
Looked at your tomato recipe, will try it out soon. Looks great, we do grilled tomatoes often, thick sliced tomatoes (usually beefsteak), crushed garlic and sea salt grilled in a skillet in coconut oil. It has become a favorite and I can have it when on the 500 cals a day.
    Blessings

  4. Hi Steph
I saw your “Amen!” to PinchMySalt’s tweet “Too many cookbooks, too little time”. I so agree which is why I came up with my website Eat Your Books. http://www.eatyourbooks.com is an online search engine for recipes in the cookbooks you own. So you can search for recipes by type, ingredients, ethnicity, special diet, occasion or meal/course, or any combination of those criteria. We have indexed more than 1,800 cookbooks so far, that’s over 410,000 recipes. So if you own more than a few cookbooks, you can now search through thousands of recipes in seconds. If you are interested please contact me at info@eatyourbooks.com.
